Hello lovely souls! April is here, and with it comes a wave of fresh energy. The daffodils are out, Easter chocolates are calling my name, and I’m feeling ready to embrace all the changes this month brings, both inside and out.

First off, let’s talk about Easter. It’s a time for family, friends, and indulging in a bit of well-deserved sweetness. I love the feeling of renewal that comes with this season. It’s like nature itself is reminding us that even after a long winter, there’s always growth and rebirth. And, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good excuse to spend quality time with loved ones? In the midst of the hustle and bustle, take a moment to reflect on what’s truly important and appreciate the connections that nourish your soul.

Now, let’s chat about something incredibly important: World Health Day, on the 7th of April. This year, the focus is on maternal and newborn health with the “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures” campaign. It’s a powerful reminder that women’s health isn’t just a personal matter; it’s a global priority. And, let’s be honest, as we navigate the rollercoaster of menopause, we understand the importance of prioritising our health more than ever.

This campaign really resonated with me. It made me think about the entire spectrum of women’s health, from those early beginnings to the glorious, sometimes chaotic, journey of menopause. It’s a lifelong process, and we deserve to feel supported and empowered every step of the way.

For us, in the midst of our menopause adventures, this focus on maternal and newborn health also highlights the importance of looking after ourselves. We’ve nurtured, we’ve cared, and now it’s our turn to prioritise our own well-being. Think of it as our own “healthy beginnings, hopeful futures” – a chance to embrace this new phase with confidence and self-love.

And speaking of healthy beginnings, let’s add some extra zest to our April! We’ve talked about renewal, connection, and self-love, but what about nourishing our bodies from the inside out? After all, a juicy menopause is all about feeling vibrant and energised, and that starts with what we put on our plates (and in our glasses!).

Easter, with all its chocolatey temptations, is the perfect time to balance indulgence with a dose of healthy goodness. While I’m certainly not suggesting we skip the Easter eggs, I am suggesting we add some super powered juices to our daily routine.

Think of it as a spring clean for your insides! April is a time of new growth, and that includes revitalising our bodies with fresh, seasonal ingredients.

And what better way to celebrate Easter and new beginnings than with a delicious and vibrant “Easter Sunrise Super Juice”? Here’s my go-to recipe:

Easter Sunrise Super Juice:

  • 1 large carrot (rich in beta-carotene for healthy skin and eyes)
  • 1 orange (vitamin C boost for immune support and collagen production)
  • 1/2 a fresh or frozen pineapple (bromelain for digestion and anti-inflammatory properties)
  • A thumb-sized piece of ginger (to soothe any digestive woes and add a zingy kick)
  • A handful of fresh spinach (for iron, vitamins, and a vibrant green boost)
  • Optional: a squeeze of fresh lemon juice (for extra freshness and detoxifying properties)

Instructions:

  1. Wash and chop all ingredients.
  2. Add them to your juicer or blender.
  3. Blend until smooth, or my favourite add to a slow juicer.
  4. Pour into a glass and enjoy the vibrant flavours and energising benefits!

This juice is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to support your overall well-being during menopause and beyond. It’s a perfect way to start your day or enjoy as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

And let’s not forget the power of the spring feeling itself! As the days lengthen and the sun shines brighter, it’s the perfect time to clear out the cobwebs, both literally and figuratively. That brain fog and low mood that sometimes accompany menopause? They can often be lifted by a good sort-out. Declutter your space, organise your wardrobe, and let go of anything that no longer serves you. Once you’ve created a sense of order and lightness, don’t forget to treat yourself! Bring in some beautiful fresh flowers to brighten your home, or light a scented candle to create a calming and uplifting atmosphere. It’s a simple way to celebrate the new season and nurture your well-being.

How can we truly embrace self-care during menopause? Well, first off, let’s be kind to ourselves. Menopause can be a wild ride, and there’s absolutely no shame in admitting that. Celebrate the small victories, whether it’s finally getting a good night’s sleep, finding a workout that actually feels good, or simply taking a moment to breathe deeply. Every little win counts, and acknowledging them is a powerful act of self-love.

Let’s also remember the importance of connection. Just like Easter reminds us, we’re not alone in this. Reach out to friends, family, or follow Juicy menopause. Sharing our experiences can be incredibly empowering and reassuring.

And, of course, let’s not forget the power of self-care. Whether it’s a long bath, a good book, or a walk in nature, make time for the things that bring you joy and help you recharge.

Remember, nourishing our bodies is an act of self-love. By incorporating healthy juices and nutrient-rich foods into our diet, we can support our hormone balance, boost our energy levels, and feel our best.

April is a month of renewal, and so is this chapter of our lives. Let’s embrace the changes, celebrate our strength, and remember that we are all amazing, powerful women.

Here’s to embracing your inner radiance, finding joy in every moment, and living your most vibrant, unapologetically juicy menopause.

You’ve got this, gorgeous!
